At BMA annual conference: Strickland wins G.D. Crain Award
Charlotte, NC -- Kirby Strickland, president of Strickland & Co. Advertising, Charlotte, N.C., and past chairman of the Business Marketing Association, was awarded the G. D. Crain Award last Wednesday at the BMA annual conference in Las Vegas.
The award, named after the founder of Crain Communications Inc., which publishes B2B magazine and Advertising Age, recognizes career achievement in business-to-business marketing communications and exceptional service to the industry. It carries with it election to the BMA Hall of Fame. The award has been given annually by the BMA since 1969.
Strickland, who has been a BMA member since 1983, served as international chairman of the BMA in 2005-06. He has been in the b-to-b marketing industry for 27 years.
Under his direction, Strickland & Company has earned a reputation for b-to-b marketing creativity. The company's work has won Best of Show or Best of North Carolina awards in the BMA Carolinas ProAd competition each year since 2004. This year, Strickland also won Best of Division in the national BMA Pro-Comm Awards.
